Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice, slightly cooled
  • 1 can Spam, sliced into strips
  • ¼–½ cup Honey Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Nori sheets or rice paper
  • Sesame seeds, optional

Directions

  1. Cook sushi rice and let it cool until slightly warm. You can make it a day ahead and warm it briefly before rolling.
  2. Brown Spam strips in oil over medium heat.
  3. Drain excess oil on paper towel, then coat the Spam in Honey Teriyaki Sauce.
  4. Lightly oil the Easy Roll Maker. Add rice and place Spam and any fillings down the center.
  5. Form the roll, push it onto nori or rice paper, wrap, and seal the edge with a little water.
  6. Slice with a Coated Bread Knife and finish with sesame seeds or extra teriyaki sauce.

Cooking with Melanie Tips 💜

  • Slightly warm rice rolls more easily than cold rice.
  • Do not overfill the roll maker.
  • Use level scoops of rice for more consistent rolls.
  • Add avocado, cucumber, or carrot.
  • Use another cooked protein if Spam is not your thing.

Mealtime shortcut: The Easy Roll Maker takes some of the intimidation out of trying a new dinner.
