Why I Started — And Why I Stayed

This Was Supposed to Be Temporary 😂

I didn’t start Pampered Chef because I dreamed of having a business. I started because I wanted the cookware.

When I started on October 8, 2015, we were trying to move away from convenience foods and make better choices for our health. I had always heard that good cookware could make a difference, so my plan was pretty simple: join Pampered Chef, get the kit, earn enough money to buy the cookware I wanted, and then be done.

That was supposed to be the whole story. 😂

But somewhere along the way, I found so much more than cookware.

I found an amazing community of friends. I found people who shared recipes, shortcuts, cooking tips, and ideas that helped me become more confident in the kitchen.

And that mattered, because life didn’t exactly slow down.

Between work, kids, activities, and everything else that comes with a busy life, I realized I didn’t need complicated recipes or hours in the kitchen. I needed meals I could realistically get on the table in about 30 minutes, simple shortcuts that actually helped, and Pampered Chef tools that made the job easier.

Now, 11 years later, I can honestly say I still don’t love to cook. 😂

But I’ve learned that cooking doesn’t have to be hard or take all night. When you have the right tools, a few good shortcuts, and recipes that fit real life, getting dinner on the table becomes a whole lot more doable.

That’s really what Cooking with Melanie has become for me—helping busy people make mealtime easier, get dinner on the table without spending hours in the kitchen, and maybe skip the drive-thru a little more often.

Because sometimes it really is as simple as using the right tool for the job. 💜
